Inspired by spartina terniflora: marsh grass that grows throughout the Lowcountry. This lux collection of soy candles offer scents captured along the coast of Hilton Head Island.

Inspiration was pulled for the mood board that captures coastal textures and breezy lines. I wanted to create a clean linear system of iconography and patterns that represent the scents of the lowcountry.

Logo Concepts
Candle flame + Mermaid tail
The concept for the logo incorporates the letter S from the name Spartina along with two candle flames that together create the tail of a mermaid.
For the candle company brand’s logo, I presented four sketched concepts. Plus, I developed a system of minimal icons that represent the scents of the candle collection.
Candle Label Design

A series of ‘four-lettered’ candle scents evoke elements from the Lowcountry’s coast. For the candle box and label, subtle textures were chosen to represent each scent styled from watercolor brush strokes.
Each candle label in this collection incorporates textures and icons that represent the candle’s scents.
